Today’s the day! Missguided have launched their brand new sportswear collection.
You can only imagine my excitement when I received an email from their lovely team asking if I would be an ambassador for their new fitness range. What an honour.
I have to admit I’m extremely impressed with what I’ve seen. I’ve had the opportunity to test run a bunch of the collection and it’s awesome. Not only does it look amazing but the quality of the products is superb, not to mention a fraction of the price of your typical fitness clothing!
I’m sure you’ll have noticed that this is only Part 1 of this (3 part!!!) collaboration. Over the next week, with the help of my beautiful new gym clothes, I’ll be taking you through three of my gym routines & sharing some songs that help keep me motivated!

So without further ado, for Part 1 I chose this two piece get-up fit for a Cardio Queeeeeeeeen. (Excuse the pun).
I’ll be the first to admit cardio sucks. I always found it so hard to motivate myself when it came to cardio. I know people all have different tastes when it comes to exercising but to me jogging/running/treadmill = boring/boring/boring. I can’t stand it. So I avoid running machines all together and stick to the machines that aren’t quite so boring.
I like to do 5-15 minutes of cardio on the crosstrainer and/or step machine at the end of every gym session. As long as you’re going all out, even five minutes is so much better than nothing. I love the satisfaction of that final sweaty push. A short burst of cardio is a great way to leave your workout on a high.
However, sometimes I overindulge (happens to the best of us) and 5-15 minutes just doesn’t seem enough! For these days this outfit is perfect! Whether you’re in the gym or if you’re one of those crazy people who likes running, isn’t it so much more motivating to look stylish while doing it? When it comes to long cardio session, I’m a big fan of the cross trainer, mainly because I feel like it works every muscle. It does feel a little silly at first, as if your limbs are flailing around all over the place but it really does work. If you tense your stomach and twist your waist while you’re moving it’ll do wonders for your abs too. Plus if your legs start getting lazy you can cheat a little and pull the weight with your arms instead 😉 (Which isn’t really cheating, because now you’re giving your arms a good workout.. win/win if you ask me).
Alas, my wonderful crosstrainer is not the best when I want to do some cardio but mainly target my glutes or calves. In this case I’ll use the step machine. I’m a complete sucker for good calf muscles. If you tiptoe while using the step machine you’ll really feel the burn. But if you turn up the resistance and take big deep steps with your feet flat this machine is an absolute godsend for a peachy booty!
Whether I’m doing a quick 5-15 mins or a full cardio session music is very important, something about a catchy beat just keeps me moving!
My top 5 cardio classics-
I know some of you must think I’m crazy for choosing a grey outfit for cardio- “What about sweat patches?!”. That’s part of the fun! I want to get off that machine covered in sweat from head to toe so I know, and everyone else knows I’ve been giving it my all. You only need to watch Missguided Active “The Film” to be convinced sweaty is sexy.
