Biker Chic has always been and probably always will be one of my favourite styles. Whether that’s from too many weekends at Motocross with my Dad or too many reruns of Grease, I guess I’ll never know.
It’s easy, it’s quick and it’s comfy. So easy in fact that I’ve narrowed the look down to 6 simple steps.
1. The Perfect Jacket
I’m a fan of faux myself, whether it’s leather or suede. With the perfect jacket you can’t go wrong. Zips, pockets, fringing, studs, the more the merrier.
Biker looks can work with other colours, that I can’t deny, but black is the only colour you definitely can’t go wrong with. It’s a sure way of achieving sleek, mysterious and edgy.
3. Tight Trousers
A biker look isn’t quite right without tight trousers. Leather, coated, denim or even leggings. If they’re black and they’re tight, they’re perfect for the job.
4. Statement Boots
Equally as important as finding the right jacket, the right boots will take you far. I’m a sucker for pointed toes but any pair of black boots with buckles/zips or lace-up are sure to suit.
Perhaps an essential to 99% of looks, you might argue. Sunnies are a definite essential to the biker look. The bigger the better.
6. Keep It Simple
Last but by no means least, keep it simple. If you bear in mind the first 5 steps, everything else is best left simple. A simple monochrome top or shirt underneath your jacket. Simple accessories. Simple bag, I normally opt for a backpack or over the shoulder.. or better yet, no bag at all!
