Mother’s Day

I don’t think one day a year quite does mum’s justice. I’ve had some good luck and some bad already in life but the best luck I’ve ever had is being my mother’s daughter.

She is everything I admire and aspire to in a person. She’s strong, intelligent, funny, kind, selfless. Beautiful goes without saying but almost seems an insult to mention alongside the many admirable traits she possesses that run so much deeper than the surface.

There really is no gift that could possibly compare to the constant love and support my mum gives me. For this reason, I prefer to gift mum with an experience. Something we can enjoy together. It doesn’t matter how big or little. Some years I can only afford breakfast in bed, but others it’s a weekend trip to Paris. Regardless of the cost, it will always be priceless.

However, I am a sucker for a pretty present with ribbons and bows, I can’t resist. I have to give a little something to unwrap.

I always gift my mum fragrance. Every mother’s day, birthday, Christmas. I think it’s one of the best gifts you can give. Especially if it’s alongside an experience. It’s scientifically proven that scents trigger memories. This is something that’s always fascinated me.

I love the idea that the memories we create together will be strengthened by the perfume I gift, every time she uses it afterwards she’ll be reminded of that breakfast in bed or the trip to Paris.

This year my fragrance of choice is DKNY’s Be Delicious Fresh Blossom, and as for this year’s experience.. that will have to wait until the 26th.

This is a sponsored blog post in collaboration with DKNY Fragrances. All opinions are my own.
